It's Banana Time

Well, I don't know about you, but I love bananas. And by that I only mean the amazingly delicious fruit that is extremely healthy for you. When your hungry in the morning, but not enough for a real breakfast, you just eat a banana. It fills you up(: Perfect addition to smoothie, in some its nessicary. I love the consistency and everything about them. So, in that sense I decided to make banana earrings! They did sell at my art show, but I decided to post them anyway(:

This picture was taken before they were made into earrings, I just think this picture is sorta epicish. (:

Catch a Falling Star.

I'm going to start this post off by saying that I have an obsession. It is Hayao Miyazaki movies such as Castle in the Sky, Princess Monoke, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Nausica: Valley of the Wind and my current favorite, Howl's Moving Castle. I always said that Castle in the Sky was my favorite, and I will forever love it entirely, but watching Howl's Moving Castle again makes me realize the beauty it holds. I always loved the movie since the first time I watched it. I used to dream about Howl's secret study with all the beautiful flowers. It was a whole Avatar (blue people) experience. After I fell in love with the movie I read the book. It has been my favorite book since I read it in about 7th grade. As some of you may know, I go to Prendie which was on strike for the first two weeks of school. During that time I kept myself busy with my clay creations. But you want to know what movie I watched three times in the same week? Howl's Moving Castle. It was perfect inspiration for painting and inspired me to make this next set of earrings. If you have never watched or read Howl's Moving Castle, you should skip over this nect paragraph until you watch or read it.
So, a big element of the story is when the main character Howl caught a faling star as a child. This star was later known as Calcifer. Much more things goes into why Calcifer is what he is, and you will only really know it all if you read the amazing book, so I would recommend you to. But also watch the movie, for it is beautiful. So, here is my Howl's Moving Castle inspired earrings. Enjoy(:

Nothing too spectacular, just a yellow star. But I think it's simple & I absolutely love it.

When I get bored I paint my desk, I think it added pizazz to the earring (:
(Did I spell pizazz right? ahaha)

I can see clearly now the Rain is gone.

We have had such a rainy summer, I feel like I'm in England, just it's hotter. Geeee. We've gone from just random rainfall that decides to ruin every activity and everyone's hair to a hurricane. Fun times right? Just when you thought the hurricane was all the rain we would get and it would have to get sunny, it decided to smight you and keep raining. That's great. The title may say the rain has gone, but I know it hasn't. It's supposed to rain on picture day, my straightened hair will enjoy that...& because of the rain it only seemed right that my next set of earrings is a rain cloud, with raindrops. I tried some new techiques with the jewerly making part of it. (How I added the raindrops.) I'm working on way to make them a little nicer, but I think they turned out really well the way they are! Enjoy(:

I tried to find a clever way to prop them up, I was going to
crop out the wite out and tape, but that's too much work...

But, I think the raindrop look pretty good. I used clear wire to
connect it so it would seem it wasn't. I hope you like it! Thank You (:

Frylock and I'm on top.

Considering this next set of earrings, I had to make my title lyrics from the theme song of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It is a show on Adult Swim that I watched a few years ago. It's so funny, if you do decide to watch it, watch the first season, it's much better than the new episodes. If you have already watched it, then you understand just how funny it is. So, these next set of earrings are French Fries. I definitely love french fries. Sad part is that I get sick if I eat to many, like at McDonalds. I usually order a small, my stomach doesn't hurt as much after that. Either way, I figured they would be a great idea for earrings! Not too much inspiration for this than the fact that it just came to my mind. But I think they turned out pretty well. Enjoy! (:

An angle from the bottom! (:

Here you can see the fries pretty well.

Tried to pin them on something to show you how it will look. (:

Optical Illusion! -I think?

So, this net set of earrings aren't really anything in particular. I believe I started with a sort of wing effect, but because I did not add a bigger curve to it, it doesn't look exactly like wings. Either way, I still like them. They have a few different things you can see in them, it's like an optical illusion! If you look closely you might see the head of an eagle, without the eyes of course. Depending on the direction you wear them, they can look like blue clay feathers, that don't quite look like feathers, but have that effect. Tell me if you see anymore optical illusions! (:
Blue is a favorite color of mine, so I am excited to see that they turned out nicely. I believe these earrings are one of those pieces of jewelry that look better on you, than on a table. At least that is my belief, I hope you think so too! Enjoy(:

I did a bit of shading with it darker in the center and lighter as you go out.
I hope you like the effect, I think it turned out nicely. (:

Get Ready to "Hit" the Books!

So, that title was really lame, but I feel like it fit. I want to start this post off by saying I am a nerd, in many senses of the word, but one that may or may not seem very prominent is my Library Nerdiness. Many time I have spent my friday nights at a library. And I am not embarrassed by that, for it's not that I sat there and read with my imaginary friends because I have no real ones, I was usually with my friends. My fellow library nerds, and many of them are my best friends. We don't just chill at the Library and read either, we go to programs that vary from 90s nights, Murder Mystery Program, Ninja Night, Pirate Night, and the upcoming program that we are really hype for, The Hunger Games lock in. Though I don't think it's on a Friday, it is during our winter break. So because of that nerdiness of mine, I had to make these earrings.
The title sort of represents the fact that tomorrow is my 2nd day of school, considering my first day was about 2 weeks ago. We had to wait through a teachers strike, but now it is over. So now we have to "hit the books". It's kind of a pun I guess? Either way, i hope you enjoy these earrings (: There is another set I am in the midst of making, they are almost finished, and will hopefully be posted later this week. But for now, Enjoy! (:

I think flowers are pretty.

I walk a lot. I walk home from school, I walk to work, and I just walk whenever it's nice out. Walking is a great exercise but can get very boring, especially when you walk by yourself. So, I always try to find something that will make my walk a little less boring and more enjoyable. Fall is when you step on every leave on the ground or wait for the wind to start blowing the leaves is a circle so you feel like your Pocahontas. Winter is when you draw pictures in the snow. But spring is my favorite. Because most houses have flowers, all over their lawns, and sometimes the flowers are available to you right next to the sidewalk. Now, sometimes I like to pick flowers, but mostly I don't. But I love to admire them, smell them, and just realize their beauty. A lot of the things I make involve flowers, they are just fun, simple, and pretty. So here is a pair of earrings that my mom loves. It's sorta like the typical flower earrings you see, but just clay and a different color than I usually see. Enjoy (:

Here you can see them from the side. (:

Here you can see them from the front, and see the little details. Enjoy(:

C is for Cookie that's good enough for me.

When people ask you what is your favorite scent, mine usually has to relate to cooking. If I go by traditional scents, I like vanilla, but otherwise anything that has to do with fresh out of the oven baking. I usually see cupcake candles around (don't get me wrong I absolutely love them) but I never see fresh baked cookies. I think I may have seen it a few times but not as much as I see cupcake. I love the smell of cookies (particularly chocolate chip) when they first come out of the oven, and I love eating them when they are cold enough to not burn you, but warm enough that the chocolate chips are still melty. (Now I feel like making cookies....) So, while I was thinking of more earrings to make I decided on chocolate chip cookies. You can't go wrong with chocolate chip (unless your allergic to chocolate, and if that's the case, I feel horrible for you). The pre-baking part of it is hard (I make it from scratch) but after they are done they are amazing!
So, the title of this post is inspired by my favorite monster, Mr.Cookie Monster. (Though as a child Count was always my favorite, maybe that's why I love math...) Either way I had to name this post after that song, it, for me, is the most memorable song from Sesame Street. Even more memorable then the theme song, at least that's what I feel.
So, go eat cookies. Thank You. Hope you enjoy(:

The Chocolate chips are a little big, but I kinda like it that way. (:

Sideways view!

A little bit closer (: Hope you like them!

Happy Birthday Maria!

So, today is one of my best friends birthdays. Her name is Maria, and I was trying to think of a great gift to give her. So, I was going to just give her some earrings I made, but instead I decided to make her name out of clay. Something simple, but more meaningful because it was made particularly for her. On certain letters I have inside jokes, like the "M" has one of our favorite lines about what goes on in her mind. It reads, "Twirl, Boys, Twirl, Boys, Twirl, Boys, Twirl, Boys, BREATHE!" -Maria twirls her hair a lot and is a little obsessed with boys. Just a little. (: The middle letter just have different textures while the "A" has some more insiders with people shes obsessed with like Taylor Lautner, and just tan guys in general. She really enjoyed it and it was fun to make. I am also taking requests for names, so if you want a specific one with your name or a random word you can request it. I'm not certain on prices yet, but I can always get back to you. If you care enough to want  to buy one just comment on this. (: I think it's something cute for gifts or just for yourself. Here is a few more closer up photos. I hope you enjoy. (:

The A says tan guys & nail polish.

It is light so it easily stands up and as long as it's on a slant it should hold there.
If you find it necessary, I can also make a stand for you, it shouldn't be a problem. (:

Jesus

So, I'm not a huge Catholic. I mean I go to a Catholic school, I have received all the sacraments I can at my age, and I actually enjoy eating the Eucharist. But, I'm not a crazy, "Omg, I must go to church every Sunday or God will hit me with lightning." I'm more of a, "Instead of going to mass, I'm going to do something nice for someone else." I feel like that has more purpose than sitting through a boring repeated lecture about God. I'm not completely against going to mass, if I have to I will, but I'm not going out of my way to get there. Even so, I grew up studying from Religion textbooks and such ever since kindergarten. So, I of course know a lot of the stories. Just to put this out there, my favorite apostle is James the Less. No real reason besides I feel like he's lesser known, like he's the less while his brother is greater. Kinda a sibling thing that I understand. I got a soft spot for Mr.James the Less. That really had nothing to do with where I'm trying to get at, but I wanted to throw that in there. So, my next set of earrings is very Jesus inspired. My favorite symbol is the Jesus fish. It's cute and simple. Though I don't like to go fishing, I do like to eat fish. These earrings aren't exactly like the Jesus fish, but the shape is inspired by it. Either that or it is taken from people who can't really draw fish well, so they draw them that certain way. (You can't even see a fin, there isn't even a line for it!) But either way, I loved these earrings. Though I have already given them away to one of my best friends, as it symbolizes one of our favorite quotes, I will probably end up making more. Luckily I took a picture of this first before it was gone, so I can show it to the blog world. (Is that such a thing? I guess....) It's nothing too spectacular or extra artistic, but I think it's simple and cute. Enjoy (:

The placement of the heart on my desk was completely coincidental,
but I think it makes this picture even more cute. (:

Pancakes! Yum! (:

You know those morning when you wake up and your tired and just don't feel too great. You know what always makes my day? When I walk downstairs and see my mom making pancakes. (: It's that great feeling when you realize you don't have to spend an hour deciding what food you really don't feel like eating, but have to because there is nothing else. Now, this doesn't happen all the time like they show in those t.v. shows of moms every morning before school making breakfast for their children. Wouldn't that just be excellent? Well my life isn't quite like that, but I do have those occasions when it does happen. Of course, if my sister has any choice, the pancakes will have either blueberrys or applesauce, for that appley flavor, and sometimes both. Either way, I don't quite care for it. Don't get me wrong, I love apples, but it's a little bland when there is just some apple sauce mixed into the batter. So I beg, over and over again for chocolate chip pancakes. And sometimes, when my mom isn't making them for my sister, she makes them with chocolate chips. Now, pancakes in general make me happy, whether it's plain, apple, or mixed with blueberrys (my least favorite fruit. -I only like them in smoothies). But there is extra happiness that comes with chocolate chip pancakes. (: So, while these pancake earrings you will see may just be plain, it doesn't change the fact that I love chocolate chip. (Chocolate chip pancakes would have looked a little weird, they are fine when you eat them, but they aren't as simple and put together as plain seems to be.) These earrings are also based off of my famous waffles earrings that I got from Claire's (my favorite store). If you were in any of my classes Sophmore year, you would know about my waffles. So these are inspired, just they are pancakes, with a little square of butter. I hope you enjoy. (:

This one is a bit blurrier, but just so you can see it close up, with the square of butter.
Though it looks more like a triangular prism, right? (:

I love Hamburgers.

Some things bring me joy. Such as sunshine, music, and meat. Chicken is usually my favorite, but I am also a big fan of Hamburgers. Though I am not a big fan of fast food. -Not because it's gross, because i feel sick after eating it. But one dinner that makes me very excited is a barbeque. I love when my family makes hamburgers because they usually use better meat, and try to cook it with less grease. My mom loves being healthy, while my dad wishes he could attack that burger with all the grease in the world. Usually my mom wins in the sense that the burgers are less greasy. Thankk You! So, while I was trying to think up something to make, I thought, "Why not Hamburgers?" Food related objects are always the cutest. So here ya go, one of my favorite pair of earrings I have made. It's going to be really hard to part from these if I end up selling them.

First, a close up a picture.
- I don't know about you, but this picture seems extra epic. Just saying. (:

& Now a faraway view of them (:

Tangled!

The other day I was watching my new favorite movie Tangled. I especially love it because of my obsession of Zachary Levi who is in one of my favorite shows called Chuck. So, I was just watching the movie hoping for some inspiration, when it hit me, like a frying pan. Ahahaha, get it. Cause in the movie they use a frying pan as a weapon... ah ha ha. So yes, that was my inspiration for this set of earrings.

I wore them the other day and they seem really cute. I am pretty happy with them. And they are Tangled inspired, making them better. I obviously love that movie. How do you think they look? (I wanna see if anyone reads this...)

New Blog!

I've never been big on making a blog. I never really knew what I could post about and that people might read. Well, people may not end up reading this either, but I figured I should give it a try. Lately, I have become a fan of clay. Well, I was always a fan, but I have been none stop creating clay objects. I am going to be selling them at an Art's Festival in Lansdowne at the end of November. So, I have been trying to make them pretty enough that people would buy them. Then I figured I should just make a blog to post them on, so other people can see them. If you end up liking any, I haven't figured out prices yet, but I'm working on it, so feel free to ask how much it is. Hopefully people like them enough. (: And if your actually reading this please comment, I just have a feeling no one will read this. Though I hope some will. (obviously) Thanks for reading! And to start things off, here is the first photos of one of my clay objects.

I call this one "Clay Garden"
     -I'm working on the names.

I really like the paint job I did on this one.
I did some shading from yellow to orange.
It's my favorite part of this sculpture. - I hope you like it!
